New Homes to Alleviate Current Housing Pressures
Hallam Land and Dullatur Golf Club seek to deliver a new residential-led development and associated works to the south-west of Dullatur. The application comprises up to 650 homes, land reserved for community use, new access and active travel routes, open space, and landscaping.
Releasing land comprising 25% of the current golf holes within the two existing 18-hole courses for sale will enable the Club to confidently invest in improved facilities and future-proof its status as a cornerstone of the community.
The potential development site is perfectly suited for a new residential-led development which complements and enhances the existing area. The area is already extremely well located to existing amenities and is a short walk from Croy train station, promoting active travel and public transport. The development would enjoy 20-minute neighbourhood status, given its proximity to the local road network, local shops, amenities and schools.
An Attractive Destination
The masterplan also incorporates site-wide open space, parkland, and recreational facilities, promoting wellbeing and integrating with the fabric of the site’s surroundings. The wider community will also benefit from improved pedestrian access, creating flow through the community. Existing woodland will be retained, and additional trees planted to improve the green space and biodiversity of the site.
A planning application was submitted to North Lanarkshire Council in 2021 and determination is expected in spring 2024. Hallam Land and Dullatur Golf Club have continued to engage with stakeholders and the local community ahead of the expected determination. This includes the establishment of a Community Liaison Group that has met with such groups on several occasions to share relevant updates and answer questions from the local community.
Should the Council be minded to approve the Planning Permission in Principle application, a preferred housebuilder will be appointed, and subsequently, an AMSC application will be submitted to North Lanarkshire Council by the end of 2024. Following approval, delivery should commence by late 2025. Both the private and affordable homes can be delivered concurrently on the site to ensure quicker delivery of both tenures.
