Securing the Long-Term Future of Dullatur Golf Club
Dullatur Golf Club has a proud history and has been a long-established recreational facility within the community since 1896. The Club currently has almost 1000 members, and is important to a wide demographic, attracting both local (85%) and non-local members (15%). Whilst the age of current members varies, the majority are older and male, and it is important that new facilities are attractive to younger audiences to ensure the Club remains successful in the future.
Under plans, the introduction of a new 9- or 12-hole golf course would attract a new demographic to the club and expand its offering, whilst complementing the existing 18-hole course. The golf club needs funds to adapt and meet its members’ needs, and the release of land for development will allow for this and support its ongoing improvement. Scottish Golf has voiced support for proposals, recognising that the proposed facilities and shorter format of the sport will be attractive to a new audience.
