A Sustainable New Neighbourhood in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire
Scotland is currently facing a national housing emergency and it is critical that more private and affordable housing is delivered to address the demand for homes.
In September 2021 Dullatur Golf Club and Hallam Land submitted a planning application to North Lanarkshire Council for the creation of a new sustainable neighbourhood and associated works at Dullatur Golf Club, Constarry Road, Cumbernauld.
Importantly, proposals brought forward by Hallam Land and Dullatur Golf Club will deliver up to 650 new homes, including 163 affordable homes.
Equally, by releasing a small part of land, proposals will help to future-proof Dullatur Golf Club through investment into new social and commercial opportunities for local people, visitors and businesses to benefit from.
A range of wider community and economic benefits could also be realised, including improvements to local road networks, education services and community facilities.
- Address housing demand
- Future-proof Dullatur Golf Club
- Enhance green and public spaces
- Strengthen the local economy
- Improve local services
- Enhance community facilities
A determination is expected in Autumn 2024. To view the application and associated documents on the North Lanarkshire Council planning portal, please search with the application reference number 21/01414/PPP.
